Autumn Festival

Octoberfest is a famous and one of the grandest festivals in the world. It is held from the middle of September to the beginning of October in Munich in Germany. More than six million people visit there from around the world during the festival. The festival has been held every year since 1810. Thousands of people wear traditional folk costume and parade the street, the center of Munich. Visitors drink special beer which was brewed up by brewers in Munich and eat sausages, barbecued chickens, tails of oxen, and traditional foods and so on in the beer tent. The beer tent is very large. People say “Prost!” and dance with music all the day. In the festival, there are many booth and attractions. We can enjoy riding on the corkscrew and the traditional merry-go-round. It is like amusement grounds. In the booth, cotton candy and roast almond are sold, so we can buy and eat it. Of course various beers are sold there by local brewers. In addition to that we can enjoy a brass band’s performance and buy souvenirs, specialties of Munich, balloons, and mascots and so on.
Because Octoberfest is amusing and cheerful I would like to go to Germany and take part in the festival.
